Pride Franklin County

In 2018, the Franklin County Coalition for Progress (FCCP) coordinated the first Pride Franklin County Festival, to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and their allies in Franklin County, PA. Over 1,000 people attended the first-event of its kind in Franklin County. Since then, the festival continues to draw larger crowds. The festival has been described as one of the "most inclusive" in Franklin County where everyone is welcome no matter who they are. The event features a variety of family-friendly events and entertainment including drag shows, flow arts performances, an outdoor stage, food trucks, vendors, and kids’ area.

Pride Franklin County has grown to host more events and programs in order to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ people and their contributions to our community. Pride Franklin County's rapid growth has validated the need for inclusive events and programs in rural Pennsylvania.

The goals of Pride Franklin County are:

  • To celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) people

  • To foster a sense of community and pride between the LGBTQ+ and heterosexual community

  • To provide educational resources and support to the LGBTQ+ community

  • To increase visibility and awareness of LGBTQ+ people and their important contributions to our community as a whole

Pride Franklin County is operated by a volunteer steering committee and is funded by sponsorships and donations.
