PRIDE FRANKLIN COUNTY

In 2018, the Franklin County Coalition for Progress (FCCP) coordinated the first Pride Franklin County, to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and their allies in Franklin County, PA. Over 1000 people attended the first-event of its kind in Franklin County and in 2019 the festival drew an even larger crowd of 1500+ which validated the need for an event like this in rural PA.

The festival has been described as one of the "most inclusive" in Franklin County where everyone is welcome no matter who they are. The event features a variety of family-friendly events and entertainment including drag shows, flow arts performances, an outdoor stage, food trucks, vendors, and kids’ area.

The goals of Pride Franklin County are:

  • To celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ)

  • To foster a sense of community and pride between the LGBTQ and heterosexual community

  • To provide educational resources and support to the LGBTQ community

  • To create an awareness of the FCCP and PRIDE Franklin County

Pride Franklin County is operated by a volunteer steering committee and is funded by sponsorships and donations. If you would like to learn more about the event or how to get involved visit www.pridefranklincounty.org or email pridefranklincounty@gmail.com.
